Frequently Asked Questions

  • Direct care is a medical practice model in which you, the patient, agrees to contract directly with your doctor instead of through the insurance company. You pay your doctor directly for the services she provides, similar to that of a lawyer, hair stylist, or electrician. Please note that Rose Dermatology is NOT a concierge or membership based practiced.

  • A direct care model allows Dr. Parks to focus on what she does best- dermatology! It allows her to eliminate the insurance checklists and government mandates that have no importance to your dermatologic care. She is passionate about this model because it allows her to spend more time with her patients and provide the highest quality dermatologic care.

  • Please see pricing for full details about costs. All visits and procedure costs are fully transparent and reasonably priced. Payment is due at the time of service, so you will never receive a surprise bill from us!

  • Patients can use HSA/FSA funds to pay for non-cosmetic services. Upon request, Rose Dermatology provides you a coded receipt called a superbill that can be submitted to your private insurance company for “out of network” reimbursement. Since Rose Dermatology does not bill by insurance codes, these will be a "best fit." Not all insurance companies allow for reimbursement and not all reimbursement will be in full. It is the responsibility of the patient to check with their insurance company. By law, Medicare beneficiaries cannot submit for reimbursement. Because Dr. Parks has opted out of Medicare and does not participate with Medicaid or Tricare, these patients must sign an additional contract agreeing not to submit to Medicare, Medicaid, or TriCare.

  • HSA/FSA funds may be used at Rose Dermatology as noted above. In addition, insurance can be used for bloodwork, prescription medications, and the pathology portion of biopsies/surgeries if desired. Dr. Parks has negotiated discounted cash pay rates for pathology. Self-pay, uninsured, and patients with high deductibles benefit most from this flexibility.

  • Rose Dermatology accepts cash, checks, debit cards, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). HSA and FSA cards can be used for medical services.
